How to use the Profile Picture editor to prepare your headshot for LinkedIn

LinkedIn Photo Optimizer

Your LinkedIn profile photo is the first impression every recruiter, client, and connection sees. HeadshotPro's Profile Picture editor lets you take any AI headshot and fine-tune it specifically for LinkedIn — then export a ready-to-upload PNG.

How it works

  1. Open the Profile Picture editor and create a new picture. See Creating Profile Pictures for the full editor walkthrough.
  2. Set the shape to Circle — LinkedIn displays profile photos in a circle, so this gives you an accurate preview.
  3. Use Remove background and replace it with a solid color or subtle gradient that suits your industry.
  4. Adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation in the Filters panel to match a professional tone.
  5. Click Download to export a 1024x1024 PNG and upload it to LinkedIn.

Good to know

  • The editor exports at 1024x1024 pixels, which exceeds LinkedIn's recommended minimum of 400x400 and fits within its 7680x4320 maximum.
  • LinkedIn crops photos to a circle in most views. The Circle shape option shows you exactly how it will appear.
  • You can save multiple profile pictures and switch which one is your primary at any time.
  • If you do not yet have AI headshots, the editor shows a prompt to generate them first.
