How to change backdrops, swap outfits, and apply style changes to your generated headshots.
Background and Style Editing
HeadshotPro lets you change the background, outfit, and overall look of any generated headshot without re-uploading photos or re-running the full generation pipeline. Each change costs one regeneration credit and produces a new photo in your results gallery.
How it works
Changing the backdrop
- Open the edit panel for any photo in your results gallery.
- Select Backdrop from the edit options list.
- Browse the style library. Thumbnails are gender-aware — the image shown matches the detected gender for your model.
- Select a style. A checkmark confirms your selection.
- Click Remix photo to submit.
A new photo is generated immediately. The backdrop list is drawn from the global style library, filtered to only include styles that have a valid thumbnail for your gender. If your account belongs to an organization with restricted style options, only approved styles are shown.
Changing the outfit
- Select Outfit from the edit options list.
- Browse available clothing options. Options are pre-filtered to match your detected gender.
- Select an outfit and click Remix photo.
A gender toggle (Male / Female) appears at the top of the outfit grid so you can browse both sets.
Custom backdrop swap
If your account has custom backdrops configured (organization-level feature), they appear at the top of the backdrop selection screen before the standard style library. Custom backdrops use a canvas preview: the system composites your transparent foreground image over the selected backdrop so you can see the result before committing. Navigation arrows and a thumbnail strip let you cycle through available custom backdrops. Click Create new photo to submit.
Removing or replacing the background
To produce a version of the photo with no background:
- Select Remove background (make transparent) from the edit options list.
- HeadshotPro removes the background. Processing takes up to 5 minutes.
- Once complete, a new photo with a transparent PNG background appears in your gallery.
- To download it, select Download transparent photo from the options for that photo.
The download option only appears after a transparent version exists; the remove option disappears once it has been generated.
Transform Photo: background and outfit changes
Backdrop and outfit changes also live under the Transform Photo section. These options only appear when your uploaded photos are available for the model. The selection UI uses a visual grid with gender filtering identical to the standard flow.
Good to know
- Every backdrop and outfit change uses one regeneration credit.
- Style thumbnails are gender-aware. The selector shows preview images matching your detected gender.
- For outfit selection, the grid shows options filtered strictly to the model's detected gender (or the selected gender toggle). Options from the opposite gender are not shown unless explicitly toggled.
- Processing time is typically a few minutes. In some cases it can take up to 4 hours.
- The original photo is never modified. The edited version is a new photo in the gallery.
