Uploading Your Photos

After checkout, HeadshotPro walks you through an onboarding flow to collect your photos, personal details, and style preferences before generating your headshots. The upload step — where you add your photos — is the most critical part of the process.

The quality of photos you upload directly determines the quality of headshots you receive. The better your inputs, the better your outputs.

How it works

1. After purchase, HeadshotPro creates an onboarding session tied to your account and redirects you to the settings screen where you enter your name and select your headshot format.
2. You land on the Upload photos screen with 3 photo slots for face photos plus 1 optional full-body photo slot. Upload at least 1 photo to continue — uploading up to 3 gives the AI more to work with and generally produces better results.
3. Add photos using either method:
   • Capture selfies with your phone (recommended) — scan the QR code to open a mobile capture flow. Photos appear in your session automatically.
   • Upload from your computer — click a photo slot or drag and drop files. Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, and HEIF (up to 50 MB per file).
4. Each photo is validated as it uploads. Photos that pass show a green checkmark. Photos that fail validation show an error message explaining why (face not detected, too small, bad lighting, etc.) and are removed after a few seconds.
5. After 5 or more rejected photos, HeadshotPro offers to turn off strict validation checks. Enabling relaxed mode only checks for face detection and skips the stricter quality checks.
6. Once you have at least one accepted photo, the Continue button activates. Click it to proceed to style selection.

Good to know

• You need at least 1 accepted (green checkmark) photo. You can upload up to 3 face photos plus 1 optional full-body photo.
• HEIC and HEIF files (from iPhone) are automatically converted before upload. No action needed on your part.
• Files must be JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or HEIF. Images must be at least 512 x 512 pixels.
• HeadshotPro preserves full-resolution versions of your uploads for higher-quality output.
• You can delete any accepted photo by clicking the remove button on the photo slot. The photo is removed permanently.
• HeadshotPro deduplicates photos by hash. Uploading the same photo twice is not allowed.
• Photos captured on your phone appear in your session automatically — no manual refresh needed.
