Quality Tips

What to tell your team before they upload selfies, and why results sometimes differ from the person

Quality Tips

The headshots follow the selfies. Good light, a clear face and the look the member wants to keep give the best results. Share these tips with your team before they start, and before they use their free retry.

How it works

  1. Use daylight. Face a window. Avoid overhead light, backlight and dark rooms.
  2. Send 2 or 3 selfies. Two is enough to continue. Three good photos give noticeably better headshots.
  3. Show the face clearly. Front-facing, eyes open, no sunglasses, no hat, no earbuds, nobody else in the frame. The upload check flags these and asks for a replacement.
  4. Send selfies in the style you want. Glasses, a headscarf, a beard, a hairstyle: the AI copies what it sees. If a member wants glasses in the headshot, every selfie should show glasses.
  5. Keep the "Does this look like you?" step honest. The member checks the features the AI noticed. Only the features they keep go into the shoot.
  6. Download keepers before a retry. A retry replaces the whole set.

Good to know

  • Results vary. Some photos in a set are not keepers. The member picks the best ones and uses edit credits for changes.
  • Small details can differ: jewelry, tattoos, exact eye color, buttons or sleeves. These cannot be fixed by hand. Use the edit panel to change outfit, backdrop or expression.
  • Photos that do not look enough like the member are removed on purpose, and the member gets extra edit credits to replace them.
  • Mixed selfies give mixed results. Three selfies with the same hair and the same glasses work better than three different looks.
  • The team lead can hide the "Does this look like you?" step for members under Settings > Headshots. Keep it on when likeness matters most.
  • Want every member in the same outfit? Approve one outfit per gender, or turn on Let team members keep their uploaded outfit so they wear what is in their selfie. See Style Presets.
