Our story
How HeadshotPro became the AI headshot studio professionals rely on
The story behind the AI photography studio that turns a few selfies into studio-quality headshots for people and teams around the world.

Danny Postma · Founder, HeadshotPro

The bet
When generative image AI arrived in , the first wave was mostly fantasy art, profile experiments, and playful avatars. Impressive, but mostly for fun.
HeadshotPro started from a different read on where the technology was headed. The opportunity was to take something ordinary and important and do it well enough that people would rely on it. That had been the pattern behind most of Danny Postma's earlier products: take a process people already understand and rebuild it with AI once the technology is ready.
Why a headshot
A professional headshot was the right place to test that idea.
It shows up everywhere a person presents themselves at work: LinkedIn profiles, CVs, team pages, sales decks, speaker bios, company websites. And it carries a requirement that novelty images never had to meet. A headshot has to look polished, and it has to look like you. Everything rides on the likeness being right.
If AI could hold on to a person's identity while placing them in a professional setting, a good headshot became something anyone could create from anywhere.
The long refinement
HeadshotPro launched in , and improved steadily from there.
Each new generation of the technology was a chance to make the result better: closer likeness, more natural lighting, more believable wardrobe, more convincing settings. Patient, detailed work, one generation at a time. By , the quality was good enough for everyday professional use.

About the founder

HeadshotPro was founded by Danny Postma. He's been building practical AI products since the earliest GPT-3 days, as an early OpenAI customer and one of the first founders to put it into production. That work has been written up by a16z, TechCrunch, and Vice.
HeadshotPro came from the same instinct that runs through all of it: make the early bet, refine the details, and keep building until the result is useful in the real world.
