What happens when your admin grants a retry and how to redo your photo shoot

Getting a Retry

If your headshots did not turn out well, your team admin can grant you one free retry or renew your shoot entirely. Either way, your existing results are deleted and you get a fresh photo shoot.

How it works

  1. Admin grants the retry — Your admin opens your profile in the team dashboard and clicks "Delete results and retry." This can only be done within 60 days of your shoot finishing. Each team member is eligible for one retry.

  2. Your results are deleted — HeadshotPro removes your existing results and creates a fresh shoot for you.

  3. You receive an email — HeadshotPro emails you at your work address with a new access link and a message to upload your best photos this time. The access link is valid for 2 hours.

  4. You complete a new photo shoot — Click the link in the email. You are signed back in and land on the onboarding screen, which now reads "Time to renew your headshots!" Follow the upload flow from the beginning: upload photos, fill in your personal info, select styles, confirm, and submit.

  5. Wait for generation — After submission, generation runs again. You land on the waiting screen and are redirected to your results when they are ready.

Good to know

  • Retries are only available within 60 days of your shoot completing. After that window, the option is no longer available to your admin.
  • Each team member gets one retry. Once the retry has been granted, the admin cannot grant another one for the same person.
  • If your shoot was deleted (by you or your admin) but no retry has been granted yet, you see a deleted state screen with a message to contact your admin for a retry.
  • If you already have a retry available and visit /team-member, the app treats your state as onboarding and sends you directly to the onboarding screen to begin the new shoot — no email needed in that case.
  • The email access link for a retry expires after 2 hours. If it expires before you start, go to /team-access, enter your work email, and request a fresh link.
  • The retry resets your shoot so you can start fresh. From your perspective as a team member, the experience is straightforward: you receive an email and complete a new shoot.
