Best professional headshots in Virginia Beach

I would rate this place 0 stars if it would let me. Long wait times despite having an appointment booked. Photographer was a high school student, who really didn't know how to pose people, take a well cropped, infocus photo that looked okay of all 4 of us. Making it difficult to find good photos to print. Photos we ordered came damaged. My husband has been on the phone for 2 hours trying to get not damaged photos sent to us. The rep on the phone made him cut the photos up and send a picture of the destroyed pictures to them, now he's arguing with them because the rep hasn't received the text message. Pretty sure we paid for photos that were never going to get to have. All we got was stress and a pile of useless paper. Just skip this mess and hire an actual photographer. And not some high school kid who works there part-time on weekends, so you don't have to deal with all of the mess that we're dealing with to get the photos we paid for.

Groupon deal. The photo turned out okay. The photographer was nice, but it seemed like she was going right through the session. Didn't even care to straighten out the floor mats so our photos looked super tacky and cheap. Especially the ones that showed a full body pose.

Let me get straight to it… if you don’t have the patience of a saint than this isn’t the place for you. Our shoot was scheduled at 1pm, we arrived to a full house and told that they’re running extremely behind. Our session was with our newborn and when we booked we were told to make sure he has a good feeding. So we did that but we waited for over 45 mins for our session that he was back up and fussy. The overall experience wasn’t pleasant and I doubt we will be returning.

Tori made our session fun and easy. We had a large group but she got us every shot we asked for and a few extra we didn't know we needed! There was a little delay due to some technical issues that happened before our shoot, but everything was running smoothly for us. We chose digital prints in addition to our regular prints and I'm pleased with how quickly we received access. I will definitely be looking to get portraits done again soon!

Alison Bell is a gem! I have never met a photographer who's people skills are on par with her talent. She has made the process fun and easy. I usually don't like photos of myself, but I felt confident in how I looked and my family looked incredible. She is careful with every detail and has a bag of tricks she brings on a shoot. Do not hesitate to book her, she is fabulous!

Alison Bell is an amazing photographer! She made quick work of capturing our little family so beautifully and effortlessly. She's remarkably gifted at maximizing just a few minutes in front of the camera and made our session really fun and easy. She is lovely to be around, cheerful, willing to do anything for "the shot" and I can tell she really cares about preserving moments for families to treasure. Alison is amazing! We had such an incredible mini session experience - it was like having a friend within seconds of meeting her! She works quickly (which is great if you have little kids!), she's knowledgeable about posing and overall it was such a wonderful experience. Sad to be moving or else I'd absolutely have her do more family photos for us. Hoping our paths cross again in this military life.

Our family had the best time at our photo session! And the beautiful photos will be lifetime treasures! We first met Eva in 1993 when she photographed our daughter...and we just picked up the most wonderful photos of our granddaughter along with a 4 generation pose (she made all of us look great!)! Eva and Kathee make a great team and we so appreciate the time and energy they put in to capturing the personality and spirit of our sweet little granddaughter! We highly recommend them!

We were lucky to have a neighbor that had Eva photograph her children through the years and had seen the wonderful results. So, as soon as my son was born we scheduled the 1st of his new baby sessions and both the pictures and the memories of those sessions are some of my favorite. Through the years we've done many more sessions, including the baby package for my daughter. Now the kids are 15 and 12 and after that session we had a photobook made of our favorites through the years which I will always cherish! Eva and Kathee are like family after all of these years and will take great care of yours. I highly recommend!

Eva has been photographing my children since they were in my belly ❤️ She does amazing work ! She is always so patient , she knows when to take breaks or when to get the energy going. Her assistant , Ilsy, works so great with children! Eva's work is truly amazing. I was surprised with a slideshow for my daughters first birthday & I was in tears when I saw the first picture. We also have gotten family portraits by Eva & yet again they are something I will always hold dear to my heart❤️ Thank you Eva!

Eva took the most beautiful portraits of our 6 week old baby girl. Eva and her assistant Kathee work pure magic with newborns! Our baby girl is so colicky we almost canceled our appointment the night before. I’m so glad that we didn’t because Eva and her team dedicated 4 hours to our family and we didn’t hear a single peep out of our baby. Kathee is truly the baby whisperer! The entire experience, from the consultation to the photoshoot, was professional, fun and so very special. Eva’s talent is unmatched by anyone else in the area, and I’ve looked at all of the local photographers. No one can capture your family like Eva and her team.

I would not recommend using this company. I messaged them in August of this year to have family pictures done for Christmas. I filled out the form they have on their website and paid a deposit of $100.00 to save a spot for the pictures. I spoke Amber and she told me it was no problem and she did not have any dates that far out yet but would get back to me when she did. Amber never got back to me with any dates so I emailed her on October 7th she then told me she would get back to me the upcoming Monday with specifics dates. Since then I haven’t heard anything from her. I am not using the company for my pictures so I have emailed her 3 times simply asking if I can have my deposit back but she won’t email me back for some reason. All she has to say is sorry no refunds but for someone she refuses to email me back. I have even called their business 2 times and there was no answer and drove to the location but it was closed. I think it’s very unprofessional.

Julie was incredible. The process to set up an appointment for newborn photos was seamless and she promptly replied to all questions. She had great instructions to set the day up for success and her ability to carefully pose our little one was incredible to watch. The entire photo shoot was relaxing and low stress. And most importantly, our pictures came back better than I imagined. They were all so precious that it’s impossible for us to pick out our favorite. I absolutely recommend Purple Owl Photography for your newborn photos and will absolutely be returning for more as our little one grows up.

We were hesitant to take engagement photos or do custom photography, but I'm SO glad we did. Julie and Megan were amazing from the first email, to the shoot, to the follow-up. And most importantly, we were thrilled with the photos! They took their time to figure out what exactly we wanted, and the work was original and incredibly high quality I'll definitely be coming back to Purple Owl when it's time for baby photos! In the meantime, I'll just stalk all their adorable baby photos on Facebook. :)

We did not have a good experience with an outdoor mini session. We used Purple Owl for our kids’ baby pictures and were really pleased with the studio portraits. Highly recommend! The outdoor session, however, produced not a single usable picture. We were all washed out, the colors were blown out, and we were positioned so awkwardly. We just were not captured in a flattering way. It was not professional work. In the future we will seek out other photographers to capture our family. Really disappointed that our time with Purple Owl ended like this.

Let me just start by saying how amazing and wonderful Julie and Megan are! Not only are their skills with a camera out of this world but they are extremely professional and personable. We started going to Purple Owl when my oldest was 3 months old and 4 years later we've been to them for newborn photos of my second, family photos and a multitude of milestones in between. These ladies take extra time and care to be sure that the experience is seamless and perfect. My son loves going to see "Miss Julie" and I honestly would not trust anyone else to capture and preserve my family memories.
